Apple has released its latest update for iPhones, iOS 16.4, which
includes a host of new features for users. The update, which was rolled out
globally on March 28, brings 21 new emojis approved by the Unicode
Consortium last year, including a pink heart and a shaking face. Other new
additions include a WiFi symbol, various animals, and objects.
One of the most exciting new features is voice isolation for regular calls,
which was previously only available for FaceTime calls. This feature blocks
out ambient noise and prioritizes users’ voices during calls, making it
easier for people to communicate in noisy environments. To enable voice
isolation, users can go to Control Center while on a call, click on Mic
Mode, and select Voice Isolation.
The iOS 16.4 update also allows web-based push notifications on iPhones.
iOS developers can now send push notifications to users who’ve pinned a web
app to their home screen. This feature is particularly useful for those who
prefer using web-based services rather than native apps.

Users can update their iPhone by going to the Settings app, clicking on
General, and then tapping on Software Update. If the update option is not
available, users are advised to check back later as the update is being
rolled out globally. For those who are part of Apple’s developer programme,
the latest beta version can be downloaded from the Beta Updates section in
the Software Update setting.
Aside from the new features, the iOS 16.4 update also includes bug fixes
related to duplicated albums in Photos and iCloud Shared Library, among
others.
Overall, the latest iOS update brings a range of exciting new features for
iPhone users, making it worth checking out for those who haven’t updated
their devices yet.
