Aadhaar Update: Verify Email and Mobile Number Linked with Aadhaar

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced a new feature that allows people to verify mobile numbers and email addresses linked with their Aadhaar card.

Aadhaar Update Verify Email and Mobile Number Linked with Aadhaar

The move comes in response to concerns raised by residents who were unsure about which mobile number was linked to their Aadhaar, and whether OTPs were being sent to the correct number.

To alleviate these concerns, residents can now use the ‘Verify Email/ Mobile Number’ feature on the official UIDAI website or through the mAadhaar App. The feature is designed to enable residents to confirm that their mobile number and email address are correctly seeded with their Aadhaar.

Key points to note:

  • Residents can verify their mobile number and email address on the official UIDAI website or through the mAadhaar App.
  • The feature is intended to ensure that the resident’s email/mobile number is correctly seeded with their Aadhaar.
  • The feature will notify the resident if a particular mobile number is not linked and prompt them to update their mobile number if they wish to do so.
  • Residents who do not remember the mobile number they provided during enrolment can check the last three digits of the mobile number on the Verify Aadhaar feature on the Myaadhaar portal or mAadhaar App.
  • Residents who wish to link their email/mobile number with their Aadhaar or update their details may visit their nearest Aadhaar centre.
  • This new feature provides a simple way for residents to ensure that their mobile number and email address are correctly linked with their Aadhaar, and it will also notify them if a particular mobile number is not linked. UIDAI’s move will help to allay concerns about the security and privacy of Aadhaar-linked services, and it will improve the accuracy and reliability of these services.
