The Role of a Cisco IPT/UCCE Engineer

As a Cisco IPT/UCCE Engineer, you play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions and Cisco Contact Center Enterprises (UCCE). Your expertise revolves around a wide range of Cisco technologies, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE), Cisco Unity, Cisco Voice Gateway, Cisco Unified Border Element (Cube), Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal (CVP), and more.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
  • IPT Hands-On Experience: A solid background in working with IP telephony systems and extensive hands-on experience in implementing and supporting IPT solutions are vital.
  • Cisco UCCE Expertise: Your in-depth knowledge of Cisco UCCE components, such as UCCE, Virtual Voice Browser (VVB), UCCX (Unified Contact Center Express), Jabber, Unity, Voice Gateway, UCAAS (Unified Communications as a Service), Finesse, and CUIC (Cisco Unified Intelligence Center), is crucial.
  • Call Flow Development: You should have experience in developing UCCX call flows based on customer requirements, enabling efficient call routing and management.
  • Cisco CVP Implementation: Familiarity with Cisco CVP implementation and integration with ICM (Intelligent Contact Management), CUCM, CUSP (Cisco Unified SIP Proxy), and VG (Voice Gateway) integration is essential for building comprehensive communication solutions.
  • Multichannel Support: Experience in implementing and troubleshooting Cisco Email and Chat Enterprise solutions, along with familiarity with omnichannel applications like ECE (Enterprise Chat and Email), Outbound Option, and SocialMiner, is advantageous.
  • Scripting and Reporting: Proficiency in ICM scripting allows you to create customized call flows and implement features specific to customer requirements. Moreover, expertise in developing custom gadgets and generating reports using CUIC enhances your ability to provide actionable insights.
  • Technical Skills: Additional technical skills, including VMware administration, network and Windows Server administration, PowerShell scripting, Microsoft SQL databases, and troubleshooting tools like RTMT, Cisco Collaboration Tracer Translator X, Wireshark, and Cisco Diagnosis Portico, equip you to handle complex issues efficiently.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, enable you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Being flexible to work in evening shifts and possessing a strong sense of individual and team play are also advantageous.
