In this article, we’ll delve into the significance of the Digital Life Certificate, how it works, who is eligible, and the steps for online submission. Let’s get started.

Understanding the Digital Life Certificate

The Digital Life Certificate, or DLC, is a biometrically enabled digital service designed specifically for pensioners. Both Central and State Government pensioners can take advantage of this system, provided their pension distribution agency supports it. This certificate is created using the pensioner’s Aadhaar number and biometrics, making it a secure and reliable method for pension verification.

Benefits of the Digital Life Certificate

One of the significant advantages of the Digital Life Certificate is its convenience. Pensioners can submit this certificate from the comfort of their homes using an Android smartphone, reducing the need for in-person visits to government offices or banks. This feature is especially beneficial for senior citizens, as it eliminates the hassle of physical paperwork.

Eligibility for Digital Life Certificate

Pensioners whose Pension Sanctioning Authority (PSA) is included in the Jeevan Pramaan are eligible for the Digital Life Certificate. However, it’s important to note that pensioners who have rejoined the workforce or remarried are not eligible for this digital certification.

How to Submit the Digital Life Certificate

Option 1: Face Authentication

One way to submit the Digital Life Certificate is through face authentication. Many senior citizen service centers in India offer this option, where your face is scanned for verification.

Option 2: Jeevan Pramaan Portal

Alternatively, you can use the Jeevan Pramaan portal. To do this, follow these simple steps:

  1. Click on the Jeevan Pramaan portal link or download the Jeevan Pramaan application.
  2. Install the client program to generate the digital life certificate.
  3. Enter your Aadhar number and mobile number.
  4. Receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
  5. Fill in your name and email ID.
  6. Click on ‘Finger Scanner’ for biometric verification.
  7. The system will scan the iris of your eyes.
  8. After successful authentication, a confirmation SMS will be sent, allowing you to download the certificate from the portal.

Option 3: Aadhaar-Based Digital Life Certificate

This method is designed for the tech-savvy pensioners who prefer online submissions. It offers the convenience of using Aadhaar as the primary means of verification.

Option 4: Doorstep Banking

For those who may find it challenging to visit service centers, doorstep banking is also available. This service brings the verification process to your doorstep, making it exceptionally convenient for senior citizens.

The Digital Life Certificate is a revolutionary initiative that simplifies the pension verification process for senior citizens. It ensures that their pension payments are timely and hassle-free.

With multiple submission options, including face authentication, the Jeevan Pramaan portal, Aadhaar-based certification, and doorstep banking, senior citizens have the flexibility to choose the method that suits them best.

As we approach November 1, 2023, senior citizens aged 60 to 80 should prepare to submit their certificates and continue enjoying their well-deserved pensions.
