WhatsApp for Windows is undergoing testing for a new feature that will soon enable users to initiate video calls with up to 32 people. Currently, the WhatsApp for Windows app allows group video calls with a maximum of 8 participants. However, with the forthcoming update, this limit will be significantly increased to facilitate larger video conferences and virtual gatherings. The new feature is currently being tested and made available to selected beta testers.

WhatsApp’s parent company, Meta, is actively working on bridging the feature gap between the mobile and Windows versions of the app. Recent updates have introduced features such as photo editing and sticker suggestions to WhatsApp for Windows. Moreover, the development team is diligently working on other additions, including the “view once” feature, which allows users to send photos and videos that disappear after being viewed once by the recipient. This feature is already available on the mobile version of WhatsApp.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now in the testing phase for a video calling feature on the Windows platform that will enable up to 32 participants to join a single call. While the current version of WhatsApp for Windows supports group video calls with up to 8 participants, selected beta testers can now experience the expanded capacity with the latest update, version 2.2324.1.0, available on the Microsoft Store.

Upon updating to the latest version, some beta testers may receive a prompt inviting them to try video calling their groups. The prompt explicitly states that users can initiate video and audio calls with up to 32 people directly from the Windows app, encouraging them to explore the expanded capabilities.

It should be noted that some users may see a different message, indicating the ability to video call up to 16 people while also sharing screen content during the call. This content-sharing feature was announced earlier with the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2322.1.0 update. Furthermore, certain beta testers will have the opportunity to view video messages after installing the latest update.

In addition to these enhancements, WhatsApp is also rolling out an In-App Chat Support feature in its Windows app. This new feature allows users to communicate with WhatsApp’s customer support team within a WhatsApp chat, providing a convenient channel for addressing queries and concerns. Alternatively, users can opt to receive support or answers via email if they prefer. This addition aims to save users time and effort by allowing them to resolve issues or obtain information without leaving the Windows app.

The In-App Chat Support feature is currently available exclusively to beta users utilizing the Windows-based version of WhatsApp. This valuable feature will empower users to seek assistance and resolve problems seamlessly within the app, streamlining the support process and ensuring a more efficient user experience.

As WhatsApp continues to expand its capabilities on the Windows platform, users can look forward to enhanced video calling features and improved customer support options, fostering a more comprehensive and engaging user experience.
