Twitter Requires Advertisers to Verify Accounts Before Running Ads

Twitter has informed advertisers that they need to pay for verification or risk not being able to run ads on the platform. In a letter shared by social media consultant Matt Navarra, Twitter stated that accounts must have a verified checkmark or subscribe to Twitter Blue or Verified Organizations to continue running ads.

The company said this aligns with their broader verification strategy and efforts to reduce fraudulent accounts and bots. Businesses spending over $1,000 per month already have gold checks or will soon, and can continue advertising without interruption.

The company will also charge an additional $50 per month to add badges to each account affiliated with a brand. Earlier, all legacy verified accounts lost their blue badges, causing disruption on the platform.
