 The Election Commission of India has urged citizens to link their voter ID cards with their Aadhaar cards. While a timeline for the integration has not been specified by the government, the Election Laws (Amendment) Act, 2021 has made the integration of Voter ID with Aadhaar mandatory. Here are the steps you can follow to link your voter ID card with your Aadhaar card online:

  1. Download the Voter Helpline App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Open the app and click “I Agree,” followed by “Next.”
  3. Tap on “Voter Registration” and open the Electoral Authentication Form (Form 6B).
  4. Click on “Let’s Start.”
  5. Enter the official mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card and click “Send OTP.”
  6. Enter the OTP you receive and click “Verify.”
  7. Click on “Yes, I Have Voter ID,” followed by “Next.”
  8. Enter your Voter ID number (EPIC), select your state, and click “Fetch details.”
  9. Click on “Proceed.”
  10. Fill in your Aadhaar number, registered mobile number, and place of authentication, and click “Done.”
  11. Review your details on the Form 6B preview page and click “Confirm” for the final submission of your Form 6B.
