Motorola unveils the Edge 40 Pro featuring Snapdragon 8 Gen 2: A comprehensive guide

 Motorola has officially announced its latest flagship phone, the Edge
40 Pro, which boasts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 50MP main camera, and
super-fast 125W charging. The hardware is the same as that previously seen
in the Moto X40, which had heavy customizations for the Chinese market,
whereas the Edge 40 features a cleaner UI much closer to a stock Android 13
experience.

The phone has a 6.67” AMOLED panel with a 165Hz
refresh rate, 1080p resolution, and 2.5D curved sides. The phone has Gorilla
Glass Victus on the front and back and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The selfie camera is mounted inside a punch hole, boasting a 60MP lens.

On
the back, the Edge 40 Pro has two 50MP shooters, with the main unit having a
1/1.55″ sensor, OIS, and F/1.9 aperture. There is also a 117-degree FoV
ultrawide unit with autofocus, 1/2.76″ sensor, and f/2.2 lens, and a 12MP
1/2.93″ sensor with a 2x f/1.6 telephoto lens.

The phone has a
4,600mAh battery and comes with a charger that fills the battery from 0 to
50% in just seven minutes and provides a full charge in under 20 minutes.
Wireless charging reaches 15W, and the phone supports reverse wireless
charging at 5W. The Edge 40 Pro is also IP68-resistant to water and dust
ingress, allowing it to survive under 1.5m of water for 30 minutes.

The
phone will be sold in Europe and Latin America with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and
256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and it will support dual SIM cards. The device
has a slim profile of just 8.6mm and weighs under 200 grams. The Edge 40 Pro
will be available in Blue or Black for €899.99 across Europe in the coming
days, with availability and pricing expected to vary by specific
countries.
