Adding a webpage shortcut to the home screen of your smartphone or tablet can make it easier and quicker to access your favorite websites. This feature is available on both iOS and Android devices, but the process varies depending on your device and browser.
If you’re using an iPhone or iPad
You can add websites to your home screen using Safari.
Open Safari and navigate to the page you want to add.
Tap the share icon in the toolbar (an up arrow inside a square) and select “Add to Home Screen.”
If you don’t see this option, you can add it by selecting “Edit Actions” from the bottom menu.
After naming the shortcut, tap “Add” to add it to your home screen.
On Android devices
You can add websites to your home screen using a variety of browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.
To add a website shortcut using Google Chrome, open the page you want to add and tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner. Select “Add to Home Screen” and customize the shortcut name if needed.
You can then either drag the icon to your home screen or tap “Add to Home Screen” in the pop-up window.
Once you’ve added a website shortcut to your home screen, you can move it around and organize it just like any other app icon. Keep in mind that the shortcut won’t appear in your device’s app library, so make sure to keep it on your home screen for easy access.
