Mark Zuckerberg has announced two new updates for WhatsApp groups that give admins more control over group privacy. These updates follow recent changes that made groups larger and allowed admins to delete messages sent in the groups they manage.
The new changes will make groups more manageable and easier to navigate for everyone, according to Meta’s statement.
The first update allows admins to decide who can join a group. With the importance of groups as a place for intimate conversations, it is essential for admins to easily determine who can be a member and who cannot.
The second update is the ability to easily see groups in common. This feature is particularly useful with the growth of Communities and their larger groups, enabling users to search a contact’s name and see the groups they have in common.
These new features will start rolling out globally in the coming weeks.
